The shoe construction seems very well made, however the sole of the shoe is no better than your everyday shoe. The sole are wearing at the same rate as the basic ones I’ve bought at Payless. So what I have now is a choice. To I buy these again, 4 months later at almost $200.00. I will have good looking shoes that have worn the soles out. Or do I spend $40.00 at Payless and have the same worn soles but also worn shoe construction. I feel like for the price the shoe soles should have stood up a lot better then they did. Kind of disappointed.

Funny you should ask...I am sending back the above mentioned shoes: Dansko Walker Black Smooth. So comfort an durability are a big issue with me due to ankle and knee problems (due for a right knee replacement soon) and a hammer toe on my left foot. I really did not expect the shoe to be as heavy as it was. The uppers were not at all flexible so the hammer toe went into shock and pain causing me grief plus the shoes (once agian ) were so unusually weighty that I actually stumbled a few times with them. I am sure Dansko has a shoe that would fit my needs but not this one, but since the Brooks fit so well and are durable and also COMFORTABLE I am sending back the Danskos for a black version of the beige pair of Brooks I ordered with the Danskos. I had always been informed by various sources that Danskos were the cats meow for walking and standing. So it is unfair for me judge all their shoes by this one. I mena it reminded me of an industrial strength work shoe sans a metal toe guard. I know this: the Brooks work with my feet and damaged knees so a black pair will be an excellent companion to the beige pair and who is to know the difference but me. Tahnk you for allowing
My second pair
The only weak point to a really great work shoe are the laces. New laces (much stronger ones) make these a durable comfortable and long lasting slip resistant kitchen shoe for long shifts.
Love the slip resistant. Well made
Its a good shoe I work in a mechanical shop with a lot of oil so the slip resistant is a good feature for me. For me the shoe seems a little heavy other than that its all good.
I've only worn these shoes for about two weeks. I give high marks for overall foot support. Heel, arch and midsole support are great. A small negative is a narrower width is not available than medium. Medium width in this shoe is wider than D width or medium width in any other shoe I own. Durability is uncertain.
