When living near the water as Ilse Jacobsen does, waterproof footwear is a necessity. Tired of bad smelling PVC rubber boots and raincoats, Ilse Jacobsen wanted to create a stylish, functional, and comfortable rainwear collection for activities in both urban and suburban settings. Their rubber boots are made of 85 percent pure, natural rubber. Each boot consists of 27 individual parts and are assembled by hand which makes it a very slow process; nevertheless, this very process gives each boot its unique appearance. The Ilse Jacobsen shoes are lined with cotton-fleece and have a heat insulating innersole which makes them both warm and comfortable to wear in any weather.
