Second go-around

  • 5 of 5
In spite of having to purchase this again, I am still giving this product 5 stars. When my Father was diagnosed with Parkinson's/Lewy Body Dementia, a little research showed the benefit of cycling. Bought this for him 3 years ago and after 15,000 MILES, it finally gave way. Obviously, need another. Of note:Combined with his daily cycling and proper medication, his cognition has been wonderful, as well as proprioception.

Therapy for neuro-muscular disorder?

  • 4 of 5
I bought this device after reading a scientific paper about the benefits to Parkinson's disease patients of "passive rotational lower extremity motion". I am a 62 year old physician with Parkinsons for 16 years. The study showed that if done rapidly enough (>80 rpm), symptoms could be mitigated by 30 - 40 %. Although I have had this device for less than a month and used it a half-dozen times, I find a significant reduction in many but not all symptom. I have reduced my main medication by approx 30%, have better balance, freer gait, less foot-shuffling, less limping, better arm-swing, handwriting slightly better, but typing not at all. I would have given it 5 stars except that, without considerable effort, it won't turn faster than about 70 RPM, it turns off spontaneously every 10 -15 minutes, it takes a ton of duct tape to keep it still, and one pedal crank is a bit loose since the second work-out, giving a "clunk" with each turn. Fellow Parkinsonians: check it out!
