Therapy for neuro-muscular disorder?

  • 4 of 5
I bought this device after reading a scientific paper about the benefits to Parkinson's disease patients of "passive rotational lower extremity motion". I am a 62 year old physician with Parkinsons for 16 years. The study showed that if done rapidly enough (>80 rpm), symptoms could be mitigated by 30 - 40 %. Although I have had this device for less than a month and used it a half-dozen times, I find a significant reduction in many but not all symptom. I have reduced my main medication by approx 30%, have better balance, freer gait, less foot-shuffling, less limping, better arm-swing, handwriting slightly better, but typing not at all. I would have given it 5 stars except that, without considerable effort, it won't turn faster than about 70 RPM, it turns off spontaneously every 10 -15 minutes, it takes a ton of duct tape to keep it still, and one pedal crank is a bit loose since the second work-out, giving a "clunk" with each turn. Fellow Parkinsonians: check it out!

Electronic Pedler

My Dad has Parkinson's and exercise is a very important part of his continued well-being, however we live in snow and ice country and with his balance issues going out is a big risk. Since we got the pedler he has been able to exercise every single day. Love the remote locomotion and the fact that is so easy to stow away when not in use.
