| Use a Toe Spreader to Reduce Friction and Irritation Between Toes |
| |
Overlapping toes, when your toes rest on top of each other, can cause discomfort due to friction. Sufferers can relieve pain by wearing shoes with a wide toe box, or by adding supports like gel toe straighteners, gel toe caps, toe spreaders and toe comps to keep toes separated.
Pinched toes, the term given to toes that mash and rub against each other so much that soft corns develop, can also cause toe pain. Sufferers can relieve discomfort by taking measures to keep toes apart. Again, wear shoes with a large toe box for ample wiggle room, and wear products such as top caps, toe spacer cushions and toe spreaders to treat toe pain.
Toe separators from FootSmart, a form of a toe spreader, are especially effective at relieving pain caused by corns, crooked and/or overlapping toes, pinched toes and cramped toes. These soft, foamy toe spreaders gently ease toes apart to relieve toe irritations. Toe spreaders also absorb pressure and friction to end pinching and cramping. In addition, toe spreaders are anatomically shaped to fit comfortably.
Gel toe separators or gel toe spreaders, also available from FootSmart, help relieve pain and discomfort caused by soft corns, overlapping toes, nail problems and bunions. These moisturizing toe spreaders, made of a patented gel with time-release mineral oil, comfortably relieve between-toe friction and irritation caused by soft corns, rubbing and chafing. These gel toe spreaders are dermatologist tested and hypoallergenic, but are not recommended for those with diabetes.
Toe spacer cushions, another form of a toe spreader, help prevent friction and chaffing, and relieve discomfort and irritation caused by corns and crooked/ overlapping toes. These toe spreaders, placed between your toes, can be worn under toes or over them depending upon the needed protection. These toe spreaders, however, are not recommended for people suffering from diabetes.
