Warm and cozy. They are not a tightly woven knit, but they keep you very warm and they stay up on the legs. The decorative knit is very classy looking. Can comfortably wear with dress or casual shoes. I love Merino wool - it is durable, holds its shape, and is warm. I have washed them many times and they are as good as new. Buying 3 pair packages saved me money.
