I was not going to buy these because of the price but the reviews were so positive that I took a chance. I am glad I did. I have a pair of favorite sneakers that I have had awhile and they are still in good shape but they have started to bother my feet because the cushioning in them are worn down. I put the Sole SolTec's in and worn them today at the gyn and my feet did great, they feel just wonderful and I can keep my favorites without paying at the end of my work out. Thank you FootSmart for carrying a great product.

I've had about 10 different custom orthodic made for me over the last ten years. None have been had helpful as Sole. I prefer this thicker style even though one must adjust your shoe size up to account for the extra thickness. They are worth it. I also recommend not heat molding them at first. Since your foot most likely has issues why mold the insert to fit your bad feet? At least try them unheated first. I found this out over the years and with my sort of flat feet using them as they come are best. To me it makes sense not to replicate in the orthodic whatever foot issue you are having. They are cushiony enough to protect your foot from road impact. Stiff at first they become more pliable with wear. Cut to fit with a pair of heavy duty scissors. SOLE also provides, I think it is a 90 day money back guarantee if you don't like them.

I was in pain before these!

One day in January I woke up with heal pain for the first time in my 66 years. I stepped out of bed and almost fell to the floor in extreme pain. Within a a day the pain was radiating up past my knee. I tried several types of pads and insoles from the drug store without much success. My son in law (a physical therapist and avid runner) diagnosed planar fascitis and prescribed stretching excercises which have helped. After about two months with moderate improvement, i was in a runner's store and saw these Sole brand insoles among others. The very helpful salesman there let me open packages and try several different ones. There was an immediately noticeable difference in the Sole Ultras compared to all of the others. My pain was dramatically reduced even though the insoles had not yet been heat-molded to my feet. I bought them and waited while they heated and fitted them to my feet. (You can easily do this at home yourself) I am completely satisfied and have purchased additional pairs online. One thing to consider before buying is that these insoles come in Ultra, and Slim versions with the only apparent difference being the thickness. I recommend you start with the slims for most walking and athletic shoes as the Ultras take up a lot of space and may require you to buy larger shoes. The Ultras seem better suited for heavy-duty work or hiking boots. I'm now about six months down the road from the day this all started and about 95% recovered. If you have the misfortune of being aflicted with plantar fascitis as I was, good luck! Just be sure to keep stretching and walking as this is the only real cure.

After Previous Reviews - Disappointing

I have a Drew Shoe that I purchased in my normal size. Afterward, I found it runs a size bigger. After reading all the previous reviews on this particular insole, I purchased a pair (as many suggested a size bigger shoe to wear the insoles) to try in that particular shoe. However, It made no difference. I put them in my regular size tennis shoe (not a size up) and they work fine! So not really sure a person needs to buy a size bigger shoe just to wear these particular insoles. If they had a maybe in "I would recommend this product to a friend" I would have marked that instead of "no" - as I realize each person is different.
