could be great...

I read all the the positive reviews about this boot before going against my gut and buying boots online, I waited several weeks to review this boot, I'm on my feet literally all day and need a good fitting pair of boots for work. The construction is well executed, the leather is high quality, when I first put them on they felt very nice and I was impressed that they seemingly needed no break in at all, after the second week the pain began to set in, soon after that they became un wearable, I removed the insoles to find that they had compressed to the thickness of paper and had a washboard impression embossed into them, it appears that the rubber sole where it contacts the footbed had ridges molded into the area under the balls of the feet, apparently to provide a "hinge" to make the boot bend easier, but without a proper insole it "bites" at the bottom of your foot, I've replaced the junk insoles that came with them with a proper set of gel insoles and they feel better, if your going to buy these get a pair of insoles with them, but i'm going back to buying my boots from a place where I can try them on first.

Comfortable Boots

  • 5 of 5
I need a shoe with a large toe box to accomodate an oversize big toe joint and still be supportive everywhere else; these boots were comfortable enough for me to put them on and wear them all day right out of the box. They also have good traction in snow which is another feature that is important to me.

good, but not great!

  • 4 of 5
Overall, these boots are pretty good (so far), but not great. The biggest drawback is the lacing system, which is very cumbersome and difficult to adjust. Also, why does Propet supply laces that are at least 8" to 10" too long when the boots are fully laced? Finally, these shoes are very snug if you wear heavy socks in them! Now, for the good features ... these boots are comfortable for walking and working, they are fairly lightweight, definitely waterproof, and they keep my feet warm and dry while shoveling snow.
