possibly my new favorite walking shoe

  • 5 of 5
I have plantar fasciitis and heel spurs which plague me constantly. I also have to walk about 4 miles a day. I have been buying the orthaheel walking shoes and replacing them every 3-4 months (even while using my own custom made orthodics.) I bought these on a whim (and on sale) and so far they are FABULOUS. More support, better balance on uneven ground. How well they hold up remains to be seen. Note that where other NB shoes tend to run small, these do not-at least not as much. Im a size 8 & out of habit I ordered a 7 1/2 (my size in orthaheel.) They are almost too small but I like a snug shoe & I wear thin socks. Haven't tried them hiking yet but they seem to have the support for it.

wouldn't buy again

  • 2 of 5
Bought this shoe because it looked sturdy for working in the yard and walking my dogs. I rated the padding as average, but it is really a little below average. Parts of the shoe have no padding at all. I ordered a wide, which normally works well, but after wearing it a few times, realized it is narrower than most wide shoes I have. It is also very stiff. I had to add a padded insole that has support. Since I can wear it for short periods, I'll keep it, but would not buy it again. Have had New Balance shoes before and have been happy. Not this time. Look for something else.

Looks heavy, but really light!

  • 5 of 5
Bought these for my wife as she wanted a good walking shoe upon putting them on she was surprised at how light they are on her feet despite their looks and how much the shoes supported her feet. As a diabetic the toe box area was perfect and the shoe did not pinch anywhere. She was thrilled with the fit, quality and comfort of the shoes. She wears them everyday and doesn't come home with achy, blistered feet. If she's happy, I am happy!

Shoe runs big

  • 3 of 5
It is a very nice looking shoes but they are very wide, and run large. I took off my North Face size 8 shoes and put these same size shoes on to find them way bigger! There was a good inch at the end of my toe and around the sides of the shoe. Its almost like they were men's shoes.
