Customize your stretch and comfort level in the Alimed D2 Night Splint

This night splint is ideal for those who suffer with plantar fasciitis or heel pain. Rather than using a fixed shell to apply stretch, the D2 Night Splint features a pivoting dorsal shell and adjustable dynamic cord to help gently stretch the plantar fascia to relieve heel pain. The pivoting shell and adjustable dynamic cord allows you to adjust the stretch force in seconds to match your tolerance level. This adjustable style is safer for walking than other plantar-based splints. A padded terry lining wicks moisture, promoting dry skin and comfortable wear.

Caution: Not recommended for use with footwear. For use after post-op immobilization, care should be taken not to comprise the surgical site with aggressive stretching. Consult your healthcare provider for proper stretch force adjustment.

The Best Night Splint I Have Used

  • 5 of 5
This product solves ALL of the issues I experienced with other night splints. It is lightweight and dorsal only, so does not encase the foot or leg, so is cool and comfortable, not like trying to sleep in a boot. It is easy to adjust the angle, without annoying wedges or other props, so you can set it just the way you need it to be to achive the exact amount of stretch you want. I found I needed to pull it beyond the provided hooks so simply pulled the cord tighter and knotted it, and that worked just fine. It is so superior to all the others I tried they all seem primitive, hot and clumsy in comparison !

Great idea, needs improvement

  • 2 of 5
The product seems well made and is comfortable enough. However it simply needs a design change. The calf stays strapped in but as I sleep during the night the toes come out. There is nothing holdin the heel and because of the elastic bands pulling the front of my foot in an upward motion eventually the front of my foot comes out during the middle of the night. It just needs an additional strap holding the heel to make sure my toes don't come out and it would work as advertised. However in the present state, It is fairly useless.

Painful plastic

The plastic frame digs into the outside of your foot at hinge point.

didn't work for me at all

  • 2 of 5
This looked to me like exactly the kind of splint I had been thinking of to help stretch my achilles at night. Unfortunately, it doesn't work at all. The calf strap tends to slide down toward the ankle. Since the device is articulated, my foot still moves easily into it's usual position with the toes pointed and achilles shortened. If there was an ankle strap it might work better, but as it is, I have gained nothing from using it.
