Trying a larger size

  • 4 of 5
I purchased the same line/brand from another site with great reviews but all were consistent with my experience - you need to go up a size for this brand. I normally wear a women's 10.5-11 and I ordered an 11. My toe was crunched at the top of the boot, so I am trying a 12 on the FootSmart site. What I like about the one I did try, confirmed by other reviews, was the flat sole (no measurable heel vs. the platform by my measurement) and flexibility, as well as the strong tread for walking on ice. I'm also looking for a lace up shoe so I can tighten as much as I need. Some reviewers have mentioned that you can feel the tread nubs through the sole of this boot, due to the flatter, more flexible shoe bed. That is okay with me, as I often wear YakTrax anyway and you can feel those. Trying to go for a more correct natural gait but barefoot shoes are not an option in icy, wintry conditions. Looking for an acceptable compromise for safety from falls. Other natural gait boot options are far more expensive, so i am going to try this out.
